The Importance of Being Early
The importance of being early.
It’s around this time of year that our inbox is overflowing with last minute requests for Christmas party events. Whether its full indie band, late night DJ services or just a small gathering with an hour of acoustic Christmas songs, we’re always inundated with an amazing number of enquiries in the run up to Christmas and the New Year celebrations.
‘Great news!’, you’d say, unfortunately it’s not as simple as that.
For us, as it is for many well-known bands, our diary is often filled months and sometimes years in advance, meaning that we see a lot of our fans and new clients disappointed as the date that they are looking for is often already booked. Just this week, we’ve had to turn away 8 enquiries for events between now and January as we have been booked for almost every available night since mid-August.
Personally, I now prefer to stay home for Christmas lunch and cook for the family, however in the past I’ve gone out to local pub restaurants and hotels for a Christmas meal. That said, I’m fairly sure that if I were to try and book a table at my favourite restaurant today for a Christmas Day lunch, I’d be told that I was too late. In fact, I know that the place I’m thinking of was fully booked by the time the schools went back after the summer holidays. Bands at Christmas are more in demand and often scarcer than Christmas lunch tables, so it really does pay to plan ahead.
No one really wants to think about Christmas in July, so the best thing to do is to book up while the season is in your mind and get in touch now for next year. Even if your plans for next year aren’t fully formed, getting a band in the diary and a confirmation through is probably one of the biggest headaches taken care of. For us, even if you don’t have a specific venue sorted yet, we’re happy as long as the general area is the same – just give us the venue name when you get that arranged later in the year.
Get in touch now and find out what days we have left for December 2020! (we are already filling up by the way!)
